Training Instructor / Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Multimedia Trainer to deliver engaging, practical training within a custodial setting. This role plays a key part in supporting learners to develop creative and digital skills that enhance employability, confidence, and rehabilitation outcomes.
Purpose of the RoleThe Multimedia Trainer will design and deliver high‑quality training in digital media, including areas such as graphic design, video production, audio editing, and basic digital content creation. Working within a prison environment, the trainer will support learners with varying educational backgrounds, helping them build relevant, industry‑informed skills.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver structured multimedia training sessions tailored to diverse learner needs and abilities
- Support learners to develop practical skills in areas such as:
- Digital design (e.g. Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or equivalents)
- Video creation and editing
- Audio production
- Basic digital literacy and content creation
- Plan, prepare and adapt learning materials appropriate for a secure environment
- Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
- Promote employability skills including teamwork, communication, and creativity
- Comply with all security, safeguarding, and operational procedures within the prison
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience in multimedia production and/or digital creative industries
- Demonstrate experience in teaching, training, or mentoring (formal or informal)
- Be confident working with individuals from diverse or challenging backgrounds
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be adaptable, patient, and able to engage learners with varied needs
- Have an understanding of (or willingness to learn about) working in a secure environment
