We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Boys' Physical Education to join a successful secondary school in Rugby from September 2026. The successful candidate will be passionate about promoting physical activity, healthy lifestyles and sporting excellence, delivering engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The ability to teach GCSE Physical Education is desirable, and experience teaching Key Stage 5 would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high‑quality Boys' PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Inspire students to develop their physical skills, confidence and enjoyment of sport.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations where applicable.
- Monitor, assess and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, participation and achievement.
- Contribute to the development of the PE curriculum and departmental resources.
- Organise and support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures and enrichment activities.
- Promote participation, teamwork, resilience and healthy lifestyles.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise standards and share best practice.
- Attend departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole-school events.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science or a related subject.
- Experience teaching PE at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of sporting activities.
- The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to raising achievement and promoting student wellbeing.
- Experience teaching GCSE PE is desirable.
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular sport is essential.
