Role Summary

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Science lessons across KS3 and GCSE.
  • Inspire students to develop curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific learning.
  • Plan, prepare and assess high-quality lessons that drive pupil progress.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of all abilities.
  • Monitor attainment and provide targeted support where required.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement.
  • Contribute to the ongoing success and development of the Science department.
  • Support students in preparing for internal assessments and GCSE examinations.
  • Encourage students to explore future opportunities within STEM-related careers.
Qualifications
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting.
  • Possesses strong subject knowledge across KS3 and GCSE Science.
  • Can deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire learners.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Has strong communication, planning and organisational abilities.

    Is committed to achieving excellent outcomes for all pupils.
  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative department team.
  • Shares a genuine commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
