1:1 Learning Support Assistant – Primary School – Rugby, Warwickshire

Are you a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a primary school? Do you have experience supporting children with additional needs and want to make a real difference to a child's education?

We're recruiting a committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work within welcoming mainstream primary schools across Rugby, Warwickshire, supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or someone with relevant school-based or SEND experience who is passionate about helping children thrive.

The Role

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
Build a positive and trusting relationship to encourage confidence and independence.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
Support the child's academic, social and emotional development.
Promote positive behaviour and encourage engagement within the classroom.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this 1:1 Learning Support Assistant role, you will have:

Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or supporting children within a school setting.
Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is highly desirable.
A patient, caring and resilient approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
The ability to commute reliably to schools across Rugby and the surrounding areas.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
