Hays Education are recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils within specialist education settings in Rugby.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication difficulties, learning disabilities, and behavioural needs.

Whether you have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, or in Health and Social Care, we'd love to hear from you.

Your New Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Support pupils both in and out of the classroom
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development
  • Support pupils with communication and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals
  • Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with additional needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
