Job SummaryGE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business provides electrification systems that are critical to our global customers’ power and energy needs for high‑performance applications. We work with major energy, maritime and industrial organizations to enable transition to energy efficiency and decarbonisation through specialist motors, drives and control technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with engineering teams to define process parameters and criteria ensuring supplier process capability meets product and process requirements.
- Lead the supplier approval process, assess manufacturing/technology capabilities and evaluate Health, Safety and Environmental risks.
- Develop and implement best practices to emphasize defect prevention, reduce variation and waste, and support continuous improvement.
- Document inspection results and support inspection and test status requirements as defined by regulations, engineering specifications or Control Plans.
- Promote use of continuous improvement techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, Poka‑Yoke, Measurement System Analysis and PFMEA.
- Facilitate root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and on‑site supplier visits for verification.
- Collate and analyse supplier quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Work directly with suppliers to create corrective action plans, review manufacturing processes and value‑enhance opportunities.
- Escalate unresolved supplier quality issues and report on KPIs.
- Assist with first‑off sample approvals and cross‑functional product or change development.
- Coordinate supplier problem‑solving on cost recovery and warranty indicators.
- Stay current on changes affecting supply and demand and advise stakeholders.
- Relevant business, commercial, manufacturing or engineering degree (or HNC/NVQ level
4). - At least 5 years’ experience in a similar Supplier Quality or Quality Assurance role.
- Strong knowledge of AQAP 2110/2105, APQP and PPAP.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Solid analytical, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project tools.
- Self‑directed, with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective communication and coaching across all stakeholder levels.
- Knowledge of senior quality tools – DZM, PFMEA, root‑cause analysis, DT, etc.
- Ability to manage cost recovery initiatives and financial impact of quality issues.
- Experience in health, safety, environmental policy compliance.
