Business Continuity and Emergency Planning Lead

Contract Duration: 6 Months - Umbrella

An excellent opportunity for a hands-on, experienced Business Continuity & Emergency Planning Lead to join our team a major engineering company In this role, you'll develop and write comprehensive, fit-for-purpose Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Emergency Contingency Plans (ECP) tailored to our project-based engineering business, which spans multiple sectors, including Defence, and operates manufacturing and remote sites across the UK

Key Responsibilities:

• BCP & ECP Development
• Stakeholder Engagement

• Design strategies to safeguard critical operations and workflows.
• Conduct Business Impact Assessments (BIAs), identifying recovery priorities and timelines.
• Develop and test recovery strategies and documentation with key teams.
• Ensure compliance with frameworks like ISO 22301.
• Emergency Contingency Planning (ECP):

• Write detailed emergency response plans for various scenarios (e.g., fire, utility failure, hazardous events).
• Coordinate drills, document roles and responsibilities, and refine plans based on findings.
• Integrate health and safety, engineering protocols, and communication procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Proven experience in BCP and/or ECP documentation, ideally within complex operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of business continuity, crisis management, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to work independently, gathering technical input across multiple departments.
• Confident in engaging with engineering, safety, facilities, and leadership teams.
• Familiarity with ISO 22301 or similar standards is highly desirable.
