Lead Materials Engineer​/Lead Ingénieur– Matériaux; Isolation Électrique

We are delighted to announce that we are seeking an experienced Materials Engineer to join our growing team hin this role you will support nuclear business projects with specialist materials knowledge across the whole range of products and services. You will offer specialist support for material selection and processing, appropriate to the design and function of the equipment, ensuring that conformity to design intent, codes, standards and quality are all met.

As a Materials Engineer you are responsible for supporting the maintenance and development of specifications for material and material processing within the context of any applied codes and standards, e.g. Pressure Equipment Directive. You will execute and support the review of manufacturing methods for production of castings, forgings, fabrications and finishing processes across the full scope of products for the nuclear business as well as liaise with Supplier Quality Engineers and support with supplier qualification where appropriate.

• Review and respond to supplier derogation requests and non-conformance reports.
• Issue and check technical reports.
• Delivery of technical assessment of non-conformance reports and supplier derogation requests.
• Participate in cost reduction activities related to material streamlining and harmonization of legacy specifications.
• Work closely and collaboratively with other departments maintaining a positive interface throughout projects.

Within this role you will be working on projects with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance. We will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not have it. Due to the nature of the work an individual is required to be a UK National (as approved by the MOD).

Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority.

• BEng or MEng in Materials Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering
• Demonstrable experience within a similar metallurgy role, specifically related to high alloy steels.
• Background or good knowledge in metallurgy, particularly metallurgy of steels.
• Background or good knowledge in processing of metals (casting, metal working, fabrication, surface engineering…)
• Some knowledge of non‑destructive testing

Le lead Ingénieur matériaux apportera son support aux projets liés à l’activité nucléaire en mettant à disposition son expertise dans les matériaux utilisés pour les activités Produits et Services de Arabelle Solutions. Il/elle fera partie d’une équipe et fournira un support technique spécialisé dans un contexte de projets de plus en plus complexes et évoluant rapidement, tout en veillant au respect des règles de conception, des codes, des normes et de la qualité.

• Apporter un support sur la sélection des matériaux en lien avec la conception de l’équipement et sa fonction.
• Contribuer à l’élab oration et à la maintenance des spécifications des matériaux et de leurs procédés de mise en œuvre, en accord avec tout type de codes et standard applicables (ex : Directive des équipements sous pression).
• Réaliser et apporter son expertise aux revues des méthodes de fabrication de fonderie, de forge, de fabrications et de traitement de surface sur tout le périmètre Produit de l’entité nucléaire.
