An excellent opportunity for a BESS Design Engineer to join a rapidly expanding organisation operating at the forefront of renewable energy, battery storage and smart grid solutions.
This role offers the chance to take technical ownership of commercial-scale Battery Energy Storage System design while playing a key role in delivering innovative low-carbon energy projects across the UK.
This organisation has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality renewable and smart energy solutions across commercial and public sector projects. With significant growth in battery storage and grid connected systems, they are now seeking a technically strong BESS Design Engineer to lead design and specification activities while supporting project delivery. This is a long-term opportunity with clear technical progression within a forward-thinking industry.
As a Battery Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
* Designing commercial-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems
* Producing detailed technical documentation including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, layout drawings and equipment specifications.
* Ensuring compliance with G99/G100, BS 7671, DNO requirements and relevant fire safety regulations.
* Maintaining up to date knowledge of battery technologies and regulatory developments.
The successful Battery Specialist should have:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in PV and/or battery energy storage system design and specification.
* Proven experience designing commercial-scale BESS projects.
* Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery technologies, BMS architecture and grid integration.
* Knowledge of BS 7671, G99/100, and DNO connection processes.
