Senior Safety & Resilience Officer

Employment – Full time – 37 hours a week

Salary – £36,363 - £40,777

Location – Rugby Borough Council – Rugby, England

Rugby Borough Council is dedicated to community and colleague growth. We are looking to enhance our Safety & Resilience Team. This role will drive behavioural change across the Council to ensure excellence in health, safety, welfare, emergency planning and resilience, in line with the Corporate Health and Safety Policy and relevant statutory regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Promote a positive safety culture and resilience across the organisation, interacting with stakeholders of all levels.
  • Lead operational safety for Work Services, Property Repairs and Grounds Maintenance.
  • Support business continuity and emergency planning to ensure Council resilience.
  • Work collaboratively within the existing Safety and Resilience Team and across diverse business streams.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a Health and Safety or Resilience role.
  • Relevant professional qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent); willingness to work towards the NEBOSH Diploma if not already held.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Desire to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
