As Lead Bereavement Services Administrator, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day organisation of Bereavement Services administration and for supervising the administration staff within Bereavement Services. Your duties include financial administration, developing effective organisational systems, ensuring all burial and cremation activities are managed with competence and efficiency, carrying out sexton duties, and deputising for the Bereavement Services Manager when needed. This site‑based role at Rains brook Crematorium and all other Rugby Borough Council cemeteries requires occasional evenings and weekends to maintain service continuity.
AboutYou
- Understanding of the technical aspects of the Cremation and Cemeteries Service, with completed or willingness to work toward ICCM and FBCA Cemetery and Crematoria qualifications.
- Extensive experience in administrative tasks: managing records, handling paperwork, budgeting, supervising staff, and working within a statutory framework and codes of practice.
- High level of customer focus and ability to communicate sensitive, complex, and challenging information effectively across diverse organisations and individuals, while working well under pressure.
- Full driving licence and use of your own vehicle.
