About

The Role

Rugby Borough Council is looking to enhance its Safety & Resilience Team. This role will drive behavioural change across the Council to ensure excellence in health, safety, welfare, emergency planning and resilience management and compliance with the Corporate Health and Safety Policy, Emergency planning policies, Procedures, and relevant Statutory Regulations.

The role is within the existing Rugby Borough Council Safety and Resilience Team, covering all aspects of Health and Safety Management, and Resilience across Rugby Borough Council which includes diverse business streams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively promoting a positive safety culture and resilience across the organisation.
  • Interacting with multiple stakeholders of all levels.
  • Managing the Operational Areas including Work Services, Property Repairs and Grounds Maintenance.
  • Supporting the safety team with business continuity and emergency planning to ensure the resilience of the Council.

Hybrid working may be available, but will be determined based on business priorities at that time.

About You

To be successful, you will need:

  • Experience in a Health and Safety or Resilience role.
  • A relevant professional qualification (such as a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
  • Willingness to work towards the NEBOSH Diploma if you don’t already hold it.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ideally a diversity of experience covering a variety of sites with a range of health and safety / resilience issues.
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
