CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator - Turner – Pay Rate: £17.00 to £20.00 per hour –

Location:

Rugby, Warwickshire – Shift Pattern:
Day Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:00pm

An established precision engineering manufacturer is currently recruiting an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator – Turning to join its growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern machining environment producing high‑precision components across a wide range of industries and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming and editing CNC programs using Fanuc
  • Setting and operating Turning machines efficiently and safely
  • Producing first‑off components to engineering drawings and quality standards
  • Supporting production through tooling preparation, machine setup and process prove‑outs
  • Managing tooling wear, offsets and tool life during production runs
  • Carrying out in‑process inspection using a range of measurement equipment
  • Recording production, setting and scrap information accurately within production systems
  • Assisting with continuous improvement and process development activities
  • Completing TPM and routine machine maintenance activities
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation
Candidate Requirements
  • Strong background in Turning
  • Experience programming, setting and operating lathes
  • Ability to create and edit programs using Fanuc controls
  • Good understanding of tooling, cutting data, machining strategies and material behaviour
  • Experience working with a variety of materials including aluminium, steel, titanium and Inconel
  • Confident using inspection equipment and first‑principles measurement techniques
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive and quality‑focused approach
