Sheetmetal Apprentice

Introduction

The Sheet metal Apprentice supports the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components by learning and developing trade skills under the guidance of qualified tradespeople.

PWR provides world class cooling solutions by manufacturing high performance aluminium radiators, intercoolers and oil coolers for race cooling solutions to leading race categories and teams such as F1, NASCAR, V8 Supercars, Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters and World Rally Championship, PWR is recognised as a world leader when it comes to high performance cooling.

• Ensure compliance with all WHS policies as outlined in the HR Manual and Employment Policy guide
• Participate and contribute in all WHS Toolbox meetings
• Participate in department WHS, Fire and Evacuation and Emergency training
• Demonstrate a high degree of safety awareness
• Actively participate in all structured and on-the-job training
• Seek feedback and guidance from supervisors and tradespeople
• Complete assigned training tasks and assessments on time
• Show initiative in learning about machinery, materials, and fabrication processes
• Assist tradespeople with sheet metal fabrication tasks, including measuring, cutting, and forming materials
• Operate basic sheet metal tools and machinery under supervision (e.g., guillotine, brake press, pan brake)
• Read and interpret basic work orders and drawings, with guidance
• Perform visual inspections of completed work for quality and accuracy
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S practices
• Report material usage, waste, or issues to supervisors
• Participate in team discussions regarding daily work schedules and priorities
• Assist with tool maintenance and machinery cleaning
• Follow end-of-day procedures, including shutdown protocols
• Monitor and assist with material storage and stock control under supervision
• Assist with general manufacturing tasks
