Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to build, assemble, wire and test a range of special-purpose machinery and prototype equipment. The successful candidate will have strong electro-mechanical assembly skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.

Electrical & Electro-Mechanical Assembly
  • Carry out electro-mechanical assembly of special-purpose machinery and prototype units.
  • Undertake precision assembly of prototype and production equipment.
  • Complete point-to-point wiring, cable crimping, looming and termination work to a high standard.
  • Carry out soldering and wiring to the required specifications.
  • Read, interpret and work from electrical wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams and assembly drawings.
  • Locate, diagnose and rectify faults within electrical power supply equipment.
  • Carry out general mechanical and electrical assembly work as required.
  • Correctly use, maintain and care for a range of hand tools, power tools, test equipment and measuring instruments.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately, safely and in accordance with relevant procedures and quality standards.
Tools & Practical Skills

The successful candidate must be confident using a variety of hand and power tools, including:

  • Crimping tools
  • Wire strippers and cutters
  • Screwdrivers
  • Spanners and ratchet sets
  • Electric power tools
  • Electrical test and measuring equipment
Key Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in electrical, electro-mechanical or manufacturing assembly.
  • Good practical skills with wiring, soldering and cable termination.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to assembly and fault finding.
  • Good manual dexterity and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering/manufacturing team
