Overview

Band 5 School Nurse in the Warwickshire 019 Service, working with children, young people and families across school and community settings to improve health and wellbeing outcomes.

Job responsibilities
  • Manage a delegated caseload within a supportive public health nursing team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to school-aged children and families.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme across universal and targeted services.
  • Undertake health assessments and provide evidence-based advice and interventions for children and young people.
  • Deliver health promotion activities within schools and community settings.
  • Support vulnerable children and families in line with safeguarding and early help frameworks.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, families and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Contribute to school and community-based drop-in clinics.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in supervision, training and continuing professional development.
About you
  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience of working with children, young people and families.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child development and evidence-based practice.
  • A full driving licence and access to a car for community working.
  • Experience with in school nursing, health visiting or community nursing is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
  • Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
