Tenancy Support Officer
Location: Rugby
Contract: Initial 3-month contract
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm)
Working pattern: Office based and community visits (5 days per week)
Rate: Competitive (PAYE or Umbrella options available)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tenancy Support Officer to provide intensive, person-centred support to tenants with complex needs. The role focuses on helping individuals sustain their tenancies, live independently, and engage positively with housing and support services.
You will work closely with internal teams and external agencies to develop and deliver tailored support plans, ensuring tenants receive the right support at the right time.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a high-quality tenancy support service to tenants with complex needs
- Develop, implement, and review individual support plans from the start of a tenancy
- Work in partnership with housing management, income, and support teams to provide a seamless service
- Support tenants with income maximisation, budgeting, and money management
- Maintain strong knowledge of local support services, benefits, grants, and awards
- Liaise with external agencies including health services, social care, and voluntary organisations
- Support tenants to address rent arrears and other tenancy-related issues
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and performance data
- Provide day-to-day guidance to a Tenancy Support Assistant where required
- Promote tenant participation, equality, and safeguarding at all times
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a customer-focused or housing-related role
- Experience supporting individuals with complex or multiple needs
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
- Confident dealing with challenging and pressurised situations
- Good understanding of tenancy sustainment and housing-related support
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance (or willingness to obtain it)
- Strong IT skills and ability to maintain accurate case records
