Systems Engineer Farnborough £Excellent k Bonus Great Bens Build the systems that operate where others cant. Were looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join a world-class engineering team delivering bespoke subsea systems and instrumentation for demanding offshore environments. Youll turn complex customer requirements into high-performance engineering solutions, working across the full lifecycle from concept and requirements definition through design, integration, testing and final delivery.
Youll work closely with Project Managers, customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams across Energy, Ocean Science, Defence and Offshore Renewables, providing technical leadership and solving challenging engineering problems. What You'll do
* Lead technical development of bespoke subsea systems from concept to delivery.
* Translate customer requirements into robust, practical and commercially viable solutions.
* Work with customers, suppliers and engineering specialists to define requirements, resolve challenges and manage risk.
* Provide technical input to proposals, estimates, schedules and resource planning.
* Define and oversee verification, validation, integration and testing across hardware, firmware and software.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues at module, subsystem and system level.
* Ensure solutions meet relevant standards, safety requirements and customer specifications.
* Produce and review technical documentation, specifications, test procedures and reports.
* Provide technical guidance across multidisciplinary teams and act as a trusted technical authority.
* Manage multiple projects while supporting systems already in service. What were looking for Youll be a strong systems thinker with a proven engineering background and the confidence to take ownership of complex projects. Essential :
* Degree in Engineering or a related discipline such as Systems, Electronics, Communications, Software or Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience in systems engineering, engineering design or project/product implementation.
* Strong problem-solving, fault-finding and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience working directly with customers.
* Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines.
* Good commercial awareness and understanding of project costs and value. Desirable :
* CAD experience.
* Understanding of software development, mechanical design and/or analogue/digital electronics.
* Experience with JIRA or similar project management tools.
* Experience working on complex, safety-critical or mission-critical systems. Why join?
