Are you a driven Project Manager with a passion for leading complex engineering programmes from concept to completion? We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual to join our dynamic team, managing a portfolio of high-impact projects across the engineering and defence sectors.
The Role:As Project Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will play a pivotal role in driving performance across the full project lifecycle, from initial bid and new product development to production transition and in-service support.
So, what will you be doing as a Project Manager?- Lead and manage a portfolio of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and business objectives.
- Monitor and control project performance (cost, schedule, risk), conducting regular reviews and driving corrective action where needed.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, tools, and resources to meet critical milestones.
- Provide clear leadership and communication across project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Prepare accurate bids, reports, and project updates, supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.
- Inspire and motivate your team by setting direction, creating a shared vision, and fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Support the Programmes Director/Manager in broader departmental initiatives as needed.
- Proven experience delivering full-lifecycle projects in an engineering, manufacturing, or systems integration environment.
- Strong background in New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Development (NPD).
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- APM qualified (or equivalent project management certification).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Commercially astute with a customer-centric approach.
- Familiarity with project management software and ERP systems (e.g., IFS).
- Experience in the Defence or Maritime sector is highly desirable.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.
