Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med-Surg RN with at least two years of specialty experience and a current NM or compact state RN license.

• Work in a hospital medical-surgical unit
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, three days per week
• Floating to other departments and local locations within a 20-mile radius is required
• Epic EMR is used; on-site training is available
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Responsibilities include providing direct patient care, medication administration, patient assessment, and documentation
• May supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Must collaborate with the care team and participate in planning and implementing patient-centered care
• Return staff must wait one year before being considered for travel positions
• Pass/Fail Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Testing is required for certain RN specialties during orientation, with only one retake allowed
• Must complete patient population/age-specific education and competency testing per unit standards

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
• At least two years of recent Med-Surg RN experience required
• One prior 13-week travel assignment required
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
