Senior Research Nurse-Research & Development

Job Overview

We are recruiting two Senior Research Nurses to join the Research & Development Team. They share our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to patients.

The role involves recruiting patients to studies via multiple local DGH teams and within the Cancer Centre, promoting studies, coordinating the care of trial participants, and administering research drugs. The post holder will also oversee safe administration of experimental drugs and monitor expected and unexpected side effects.

• Screen and identify eligible patients for clinical trials.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of study protocols and support recruitment in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Monitor patient progress and collect accurate clinical trial data.
• Act as a key contact for patients and families, providing information, support, and advocacy.
• Assist with ethics and approval submissions, contribute to protocol reviews, advise on specialised equipment and resources.
• Ensure ethical standards are maintained throughout the research process.
• Safely administer experimental treatments and monitor patients for side effects.

• High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum pro rata.
