Accounts Administrator – Runcorn
Seeking an experienced and highly organised Accounts Administrator to join a busy team. This is a varied, hands‑on role that will suit an individual with strong all‑round accounts experience who is comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast‑paced environment.
The successful candidate must have previous experience using Quick Books and Sage Payroll, together with a solid understanding of purchase ledger, payroll, VAT, reconciliations, and general accounting procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Purchase Ledger & Supplier Management
- Manage the accounts email inbox.
- Input all invoices and credit notes onto the purchase daybook.
- Post supplier invoices onto Quick Books.
- Process supplier payment runs.
- Post supplier payments onto Quick Books.
- Query invoices and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
- Manage monthly supplier payment runs.
- Send remittances to suppliers.
- Payroll & CIS
- Run payroll using Sage Payroll.
- Post payroll transactions onto Quick Books.
- Process P11D submissions.
- Input subcontractor invoices onto the subcontractor daybook.
- Post subcontractor invoices.
- Process fortnightly subcontractor payment runs.
- Run monthly CIS reports and distribute to subcontractors (training can be provided).
- Accounts & Reporting
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Produce final job costing reports.
- Manage the sales ledger.
- Prepare monthly sales applications and invoices.
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts Administrator, Accounts Assistant, or Bookkeeper role.
- Essential experience using Quick Books.
- Essential experience using Sage Payroll.
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, VAT returns, and bank reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional manner.
Monday – Friday 35.5 hours – Office-based role.
Salary £30,000-£33,000
