Located in Runcorn, United Kingdom, our newly extended 120,000 sq. ft. facility is a fully integrated site offering comprehensive manufacturing, repair, and overhaul services to the major players in the landing gear industry. Designated as a Center of Excellence, the facility specializes in surface treatment and assembly of small-to-medium sized landing gear systems. As a key part of the Centre of Division, it supports several global programs, including Gripen – SAAB, Hawk – BAE Systems, KF21 – Hanwha Aerospace, and AW101 – Leonardo Helicopters.

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of materials and services for their assigned commodities. They will work with suppliers to negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms. The Senior Buyer will also be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring that all procurement activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
- Evaluating, selecting, and recommending new vendors to management
- Managing inventory levels and forecasting future needs
- Working with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Ensuring quality standards are met by suppliers
- Resolving any supplier issues or concerns
- To develop and implement strategies for procuring and managing commodities in a way that minimizes cost and risk while maximizing quality
- To monitor market trends and developments in order to make informed decisions about commodity procurement
- To manage the storage and transportation of commodities
- To ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies & procedures
- To develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., purchasing, finance, operations) as well as external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers)
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, economics, or a similar field and/or CIPS
- At least four years’ experience in supply chain or commodity management
- Solid knowledge of financial markets that influence commodity prices
- Thorough understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes
- Good negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Highly organized with excellent time‑management skills
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
