Teacher Active is proud to be working with a specialist provision in Runcorn, supporting students with SEMH needs. The setting offers a structured and supportive environment, focused on helping pupils develop emotional regulation, confidence and positive engagement with education.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant on a 12-month maternity cover, starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to move onto a temp to perm basis. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be working with Key Stage 3 students, supporting them both in and out of the classroom, managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs

Previous experience supporting Key Stage 3 students

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

A calm, patient and consistent approach

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
