Engineering Manager

Position: Engineering Manager (Permanent)
At Isover (part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland), we're looking for our next Engineering Manager.

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering and maintenance function and play a key role in delivering the site and wider business strategy. This is a senior leadership position where you'll set a clear vision for the department, translate business requirements into a practical roadmap, and create the conditions for sustainable performance and improvement.

You'll be accountable for driving plant reliability, availability and safety, while developing a strong, engaged engineering team that takes ownership of results. With a strong focus on collaboration, you'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, building trusted relationships and ensuring engineering priorities are aligned with operational and strategic goals.

This role offers significant scope to lead change, capital projects and continuous improvement, embedding WCM ways of working and delivering measurable results through structured project and people leadership. It's an opportunity to make a real impact, shaping how engineering supports the business today and positions it for the future.

This is a full‑time, days‑based role, based at our Runcorn site.

What we're looking for:

Highly experienced in leading engineering teams to deliver against agreed targets
Extensive experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools with the ability to apply a change management process and tools to create a manufacturing strategy to support business requirements
Able to create a vision and roadmap for the department outlining required results and success whilst displaying a positive attitude and dedicated to positive outcomes.
Able to demonstrate previous success in managing business capital expenditure (Capex) with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle with a proven track record of delivering major projects
Able to establish and maintain strong relationships across all areas of the business
Problem solving and root cause identification skills
Demonstrable WCM or similar continuous improvement experience and successes.
Degree qualified, preferably chartered status What you will be doing:

This is a varied role, some of the duties you will have responsibility for, but not limited to, include:

Lead the Maintenance Department to maximise plant and equipment availability and reliability,
Deliver the business strategy, at an economical cost
Achieve the highest standards of environmental, health and safety performance.
Ensure safety management systems are implemented throughout the engineering department and driving a `safety' culture.
Control operational performance to enable delivery of annual production targets and associated plant KPIs.
Ensure WCM methodology is embedded and used as the key process in identifying and prioritising plant losses and initiating continuous improvement.
Manage and drive the use of WCM systems down to the engineering team.
Deliver and control the maintenance spend and monitor/report against budget including the review and approval of maintenance contracts and cost estimates
Manage the performance of days engineering team
Manage employee relations issues up to the level identified in grievance and disciplinary procedures.
Support the Plant WCM route map in the formation of the plant business strategy and play a key role in delivering against the strategy
