Analytical Chemist

SRG are supporting a leading chemical manufacturer in Runcorn who are seeking a Graduate Day Analyst to join their Site Services / Analytical Labs team on a 6-month temporary contract
.

This is a great opportunity for a recent Chemistry graduate to gain practical, hands‑on laboratory experience in an ISO‑ and UKAS‑accredited environment, working on a variety of analytical and process‑related projects that directly support production and quality operations.

Location: Runcorn

Contract: Temporary (6 months)

Hours: Day shift, full‑time

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of process, safety, health, environmental, and product samples using documented standard methods.
• Ensure analytical equipment and methods are maintained, calibrated, and compliant with ISO 9001 / UKAS 17025 standards.
• Report and investigate analytical anomalies using prescribed quality procedures.
• Carry out basic maintenance, calibration, and quality checks on lab instruments.
• Support technical teams in resolving production or environmental issues through analytical testing.
• Participate in training and maintain a strong understanding of lab safety (COSHH, risk assessments).

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree (or HND) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
• Strong practical laboratory and analytical skills
• Excellent self‑management, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Available immediately and based locally to Runcorn
• Full right to work in the UK
