Northgate Vehicle Hire is a leading vehicle rental specialist in the UK, Ireland, and Spain. We operate approximately 49,000 vans and 19,000 cars, supporting our workshops and fleet. Our Runcorn site works alongside sister companies Auxillis and Charged EV, with a team of 5 technicians within a 41‑colleague workshop.

42.5 hours / Day shifts only. Overtime is available and paid at time and a half.

As a Vehicle Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our vehicles, ensuring they are safe and legally compliant for our customers to hire.

• Carry out routine and non‑routine mechanical, electrical and brake system repairs.
• Diagnose faults and conduct service checks.
• Maintain accurate service records and data entry.
• Ensure all work meets company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the Workshop Manager and other technicians to meet deadlines.

• Level 2 or Level 3 Qualified Technician.
• Minimum of 3 years of employment as a technician/mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and ability to work within a team.

We run an internal IMI‑accredited training department. You will receive personalised training covering Hybrid & EV vehicle repair, tail lifts, braking systems, electrics, and more. Level 2 staff can opt for a training needs analysis to tailor their learning path.
