We have a fantastic opportunity for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our Area 10 team based at Preston Brook Depot, Chesnut Lodge, Preston Brook, Runcorn, Cheshire, WA7 3AT
.
Working with National Highways, Amey maintains and operates the strategic road network across the North West. As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in delivering routine and reactive maintenance activities, helping to keep customers moving safely and efficiently across the network.

The standard hours of work are 12-hour shifts on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern
, including days, nights, weekends and participation in winter maintenance and emergency response activities.
- Delivering routine and reactive highway maintenance works.
- Installing, maintaining and removing traffic management.
- Carrying out repairs to safety barriers, signs, fences, drainage systems and carriageways.
- Undertaking vegetation management and environmental maintenance activities.
- Operating vehicles, plant and equipment in accordance with training and company procedures.
- Supporting incident response and emergency call-out activities across the Area 10 network.
- Working safely and complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Completing work records and defect reporting accurately and in a timely manner.
- Contributing to a positive safety culture and delivering excellent customer service.
- Experience working within highways maintenance, construction, utilities or a similar operational environment.
- A strong commitment to health, safety and wellbeing.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible approach to shift working and emergency response requirements.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous highways maintenance experience.
- Winter Maintenance experience.
- HGV/LGV Licence.
