Delivery Driver – Haddon Heights, NJ
$17.75 – $24.00 per hour. 8:00 am start, Monday to Friday. Full‑time. Entry level. Management and manufacturing. Benefits: health & wellness programs.
Job DescriptionThe Driver’s responsibilities include delivering parts, keeping store clean, upselling, maintaining inventory knowledge, and engaging customers.
Position Responsibilities- Pick, stage and safely deliver parts to pro customers.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers while promoting current sales and loyalty programs.
- Daily collection of credit accounts.
- Build and maintain relationships with Main Street and National Pro customers while providing the CPP with insights learned while making deliveries.
- Assist in upselling and cross‑selling products to increase average transaction value.
- Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting and parking lot.
- General stocking including truck stocking, back stock and cycle counts.
- Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales.
- Engage with walk‑in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Safe driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use delivery board system.
- Friendly and persuasive communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts; safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems (Back stock) and store equipment.
- Sales aptitude and customer service orientation.
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend solutions.
Job Skills
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers and peers.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Willing to work an assortment of days, evenings and weekends as needed.
- Confidence in engaging customers and promoting products.
- Willing to learn about new products and sales techniques.
- Automotive parts experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
The employee will predominantly walk or stand, talk and hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
Primarily indoors with occasional exposure to weather, moving mechanical parts, hazardous chemicals, electrical shock risk, vibration. Noise level usually moderate.
Compensation RangeGood faith estimate: $15.95 – $16.95 per hour for a new team member. Rate offered depends on geographic location, experience, education, leadership roles and shift differential.
