An Extrusion Technician is responsible for performing and maintaining the daily activities associated with a production line. This includes housekeeping, safety, quality, maintaining production efficiencies, repair and maintenance, and minimizing downtime.

Job Responsibilities
- Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
- Complete shift production and reporting paperwork
- Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Production Supervisor
- Meet quality specifications for all products produced
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment as needed
- Troubleshoot process and mechanical problems and perform repairs and adjustments to meet production needs as required
- Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance
- Maintain ability to operate various production lines and processes effectively
- Maintain facility housekeeping
- Adhere to PLP product sampling schedule
- Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
- Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all production lines
- Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality certification requirements
- Perform tooling changeovers in an efficient manner
- Require regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent, desirable
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities
- Ability to operate heavy machinery
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within manufacturing environment
- Self‑motivated and dependable
- Punctual with good attendance
- Previous manufacturing machine operation or extrusion experience
- Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
- Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 12 continuous hours
- Must be able to perform repetitive motion such as walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, gripping, and standing
- Ability to work in temperature extremes
- Clarity of vision and ability to focus on a fast, repetitive operation
