Remedy Tutors are looking for passionate and experienced SEN Tutors, Specialist Tutors and 1:1 Tutors to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You’ll provide tailored 1:1 tuition, helping pupils build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and make meaningful progress towards their individual goals.
Sessions may take place in pupils' homes, schools or community settings, offering flexibility and the opportunity to create a learning environment that works for each individual.
The roleAs an SEN Tutor, you will:
Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition based on individual needs.
Support pupils with needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
Assess learning needs and establish appropriate objectives.
Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons.
Adapt teaching approaches, resources and strategies to suit each learner.
Build positive relationships and develop pupils' confidence, independence and motivation.
Monitor and report on progress and outcomes.
Work collaboratively with parents, schools and other professionals.
Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Follow appropriate safeguarding and SEND procedures.
What we're looking forWe’d love to hear from candidates who have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEN.
Experience delivering 1:1 tuition, interventions or personalised support.
Strong subject knowledge relevant to the tutoring role.
A recognised teaching/tutoring qualification such as QTS, PGCE/PGDE or relevant certification.
A good understanding of different SEN needs and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.
A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
An Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete the required process.
Specialist experience welcomeWe particularly welcome tutors with:
Specialist SEN/SEND qualifications.
Level 3, Level 4 or Level 5 education/SEN qualifications.
Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) qualifications.
Experience supporting pupils with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, ADHD, autism or SEMH.
Experience delivering intervention programmes or personalised learning plans.
Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs.
Experience working with pupils who are disengaged from mainstream education or accessing alternative provision.

Starting from approx. £23.79 per hour
