Senior Design Manager

Job Description

Kier is seeking Senior Design Managers to join our Strategic Projects team.

Location:

Nationwide across the UK.

Hours:

Full Time, Permanent (flexibility on offer). We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

• Lead design delivery across your designated workstream, collaborating with other work streams to ensure seamless coordination.
• Supervise design team consultants and supply chain partners to maintain consistent quality and comply with project programmes.
• Manage design risks and opportunities within your workstream, ensuring timely design deliverables.
• Support client interfaces, user groups, and stakeholder engagements.
• Line‑manage and mentor design management members, providing growth opportunities and career development.

• Experience leading design on complex projects (£50m–£150m) or package delivery on major projects (worth over £250m), preferably in healthcare.
• Construction qualifications – at least HND/HNC/T Level in a relevant discipline.
• Strong technical knowledge of regulations and digital applications in construction.
• Excellent communication skills, collaborative, and able to nurture relationships.
