The Business Development Officer II is responsible for generating customer account relationships through referrals and personal solicitations. The role involves attending civic events such as Chamber of Commerce ribbon cuttings, banquets, and annual meetings, and developing a network to grow business relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Makes 15 weekly retention and business development outside calls on potential customers to solicit banking business.

Develops prospects from current commercial customers, referrals, and other sources for lenders, merchant services, and Centennial Insurance Agency.

Contacts prospective customers to present available services.

Attends sales and trade meetings to develop new business prospects.

Represents the bank at civic, charitable, educational, and social affairs to expand contacts.

Makes presentations on financial services to groups to attract new business.

Plans and implements customer call programs to develop account relationships; may train others in business solicitation.

Documents calls through CRM (Connections) and reports weekly to supervisors.

Recommends upgrades, elimination, or introduction of new products/services.

Maintains and strengthens relationships with existing customers.

Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Completes required BSA/AML and compliance training as needed.

Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Successful performance requires satisfactory completion of all essential duties. The following are required:

Education and Experience

Broad knowledge in accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree plus 4 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid state driver's license.

Working Conditions

Somewhat disagreeable, with exposure to noise, intermittent standing, walking, and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting.

Environmental Conditions

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather, extreme heat, and occasional wet or humid conditions. Moderate noise level.

Physical Activities

Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; occasionally sit, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, and focus adjustment.
