Associate Professor, Paediatrics, Rustaq Department:
Department of Paediatrics
Campus:College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sohar
Reporting To:Head of the Department of Paediatrics
Experience:Minimum 7–10 years academic and clinical experience with strong evidence of publications.
Language Requirement:Proficiency in English is a must.
Job Description:- Exhibits leadership qualities in the department organizing meetings and discussions along with the faculty of the department and hospital affiliated faculty.
- Contributes to curriculum design and development and conducts curriculum review and makes modifications to the course based on students’ performance and feedback.
- Contributes in the clinical training of students
- Helps in the development of new courses.
- Introduces and develops innovative instructional methods.
- Prepares exam blueprints, vets exam questions and supervises examinations.
- Performs an assessment review and makes modifications based on item analysis.
- Pursues to get a license from MOH for practicing their discipline as an adjunct member of the hospital health care team.
- Provides academic advising/counseling to students.
- Generates research ideas, for junior faculty, students and guides them as required.
- Publishes in reputed journals.
- Collaborates and supports colleagues and students in terms of their research interest and in scholarly activities.
- Participates in departmental, college, university level committees and external agencies as assigned.
- Participates in administrative duties as assigned by the Dean.
- Leads and participates in relevant community outreach projects
- Plans faculty development opportunities to update with recent advances in knowledge, skills, and attitudes to ensure high quality teaching, research and patient care aligned with NU strategic goals and National priorities.
- Earns CME credits and maintains credit points requirement for each year.
- Organizes departmental workshops/ conferences and CMEs.
- Participates as a leader in all activities related to accreditation of the college and program.
- Participates and provides guidance to students led co-curricular activities.
- Any other work assigned by HoD/ Assistant Dean/ Dean.
Skills:
- Strong Research Background with good number of publications and high Scopus Index.
