A well-established organisation within the mining, manufacturing, and FMCG sector is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for product costing, cost analysis, financial controls, and supporting business decision-making through accurate financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and maintain accurate product costing and cost allocation processes
- Analyse manufacturing and operational costs to identify trends and efficiencies
- Prepare and review cost reports and variance analyses
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Monitor inventory and stock-related costs
- Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and company policies
- Partner with operational teams to improve profitability and cost management
- Assist with audit preparation and implementation of audit recommendations
- Provide management with meaningful financial insights and reporting
Skills Required:
- BCom Accounting or related qualification essential
- Completed Articles advantageous
- 5-10 years of relevant finance experience
- Experience with in Mining, Manufacturing, or FMCG industries is essential
- Strong product costing experience required
- Audit background highly advantageous
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and engage with cross-functional teams
