Senior Contracts Specialist | Mining

Our client requires a seasoned Contracts Specialist for an onsite mining operation in Rustenburg, with substantial procurement experience and a proven track record in mining projects.

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Contract Management.
• Minimum 5 years' Procurement experience.
• Strong hands-on contract administration and management capability.
• Solid mining industry and project exposure.
• Practical NEC and/or FIDIC experience – essential.
• SAP and Microsoft Office proficiency, including strong Excel capability.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management ability.
• Commercially focused, highly organised and detail-oriented.

• Lead the day-to-day management and administration of mining contracts.
• Ensure contractual terms, obligations and deliverables are properly interpreted and administered.
• Apply NEC and/or FIDIC principles when managing notices, claims, variations, compensation events and other contractual changes.
• Evaluate contractor and vendor performance and address contractual non-compliance.
• Review commercial documentation, pricing proposals and payment claims.
• Monitor and mitigate commercial, contractual and procurement risks.
• Assist with negotiations, contract amendments, extensions, renewals and final close-out.
• Keep contract, claims, notices, variations and commercial registers up to date.
• Ensure appropriate vendor and B-BBEE compliance.
