Project Manager; Infrastructure Development

Our client, What Jobs Direct, is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure development projects in Rustenburg. This hybrid role offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute effectively to projects that shape our region's development. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of complex infrastructure undertakings, from initial planning and design through to construction and commissioning.

This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of construction management, stakeholder engagement, and risk mitigation. You will work closely with engineering teams, contractors, government bodies, and community stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the successful execution of vital infrastructure initiatives within North West.

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for infrastructure projects.
• Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and consultants.
• Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and design to construction, testing, and handover.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Manage stakeholder communication and engagement, including regular progress reporting to senior management and relevant authorities.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
• Manage contract administration and procurement processes for materials and services.
• Conduct site visits and progress inspections to monitor project execution and quality.
• Resolve project issues and conflicts promptly and effectively.
• Ensure accurate project documentation and record-keeping.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically within the infrastructure or construction sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management methodologies.
• Experience working with hybrid or on-site project environments.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and CAD software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with local building regulations and permitting processes in South Africa.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Relevant professional certification (e.g., Pr. Eng, PMP) is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
