Civil Project Manager - Construction Oversight

Our client is seeking a seasoned and proactive Civil Project Manager to lead and oversee diverse construction projects in the Rustenburg, North West region. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methodologies. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining a safe working environment.

This role is critical for managing the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and procurement through to final handover and closeout. We are looking for an individual who can effectively manage multiple stakeholders, mitigate risks, and drive project success in a demanding environment. Your expertise will be vital in shaping the infrastructure development in this key industrial hub.

• Manage all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure safety compliance.
• Prepare project reports, progress updates, and financial statements for senior management and clients.
• Manage project risks, develop and implement mitigation strategies, and resolve on-site challenges effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
• Manage contract administration, including change orders, claims, and dispute resolution.
• Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders.

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr CPM) is highly advantageous.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering project management, with a proven track record in construction.
• Extensive experience in managing large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations in South Africa.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to work on-site in and around Rustenburg.
