Site Engineer - Heavy Industrial Construction

Our client, a distinguished leader in the construction sector specializing in heavy industrial facilities, is looking for a diligent and skilled Site Engineer to join their project team in Rustenburg, North West . This role is essential for ensuring the successful execution of on-site construction activities, maintaining quality standards, and promoting safety. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in civil or mechanical engineering principles and a hands-on approach to site management.

You will be instrumental in translating engineering designs into tangible structures, working closely with site foremen, subcontractors, and project managers. This is a critical on-site position, requiring your full-time presence in Rustenburg, North West .

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site, ensuring work is carried out according to engineering plans and specifications.
• Implement and maintain the project quality management plan, conducting inspections and testing as required.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
• Assist in the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and construction sequences.
• Manage and direct site personnel and subcontractors, ensuring efficient use of labor and equipment.
• Monitor progress, identify any deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, material quantities, and progress reports.
• Liaise with the project manager, designers, and clients regarding site progress and technical issues.
• Assist in the control of project costs by managing resources and minimizing waste.

• A Bachelor's or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar construction supervision role.
• Experience in heavy industrial or large-scale construction projects is essential.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and site safety procedures.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
