Senior Lighting Designer - Theatre & Events

Our client, a respected name in theatrical and event production in Rustenburg , seeks a highly creative and technically adept Senior Lighting Designer . This role is critical in shaping the visual atmosphere and emotional impact of performances and events through innovative lighting design. You will work closely with directors, producers, and technical teams to translate concepts into stunning visual realities.

• Conceptualize and design lighting schemes for theatre productions, concerts, corporate events, and other live performances.
• Create detailed lighting plots, cue sheets, and equipment specifications.
• Oversee the installation, programming, and operation of lighting systems.
• Collaborate with directors, set designers, and video content creators to ensure cohesive visual storytelling.
• Manage lighting budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
• Mentor junior lighting designers and technicians.

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in lighting design for theatre and live events.
• Proficiency with lighting design software ("Vectorworks, ETC Eos family consoles").
• Strong understanding of stage lighting technology, including moving lights, LEDs, and control systems.
• Demonstrated ability to create impactful and artistically coherent lighting designs.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in budget management and team leadership.
