Our client is looking for a skilled Power Plant Operations Engineer to manage and optimize the operations of their facility in Rustenburg . This critical role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable generation of energy, contributing directly to the region's power supply. You will oversee daily plant operations, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement process improvements to enhance performance and reduce operational costs.
This position demands a strong understanding of power generation technologies and a proactive approach to operational challenges, working within a demanding industrial environment focused on safety and output.
- Monitor and control plant operations to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and production standards.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in power generation processes.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for equipment malfunctions and operational anomalies, implementing corrective actions promptly.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for plant operations.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee planned and unplanned downtime for repairs and upgrades.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in power plant operations or a related industrial engineering field.
- In-depth knowledge of power generation equipment and control systems, such as turbines, boilers, and generators.
- Strong understanding of operational safety procedures and environmental regulations in the energy sector.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills required for a plant environment.
