This leadership role focuses on optimizing plant operations and equipment by managing engineering services and projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience in heavy equipment maintenance, and maintenance processes. Knowledge of relevant Acts, legislation, and ISO standards is essential for legal compliance. The role also involves diagnostic work, root cause analysis, trend analysis, and report writing to drive continuous improvement in plant performance.
Duties& Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all site engineering services and project activities to optimize plant and equipment performance.
- Oversee and provide engineering services to support plant operations and optimization.
- Lead contractor management, ensuring compliance with project goals and safety standards.
- Provide support functions to internal teams, ensuring seamless operations and addressing technical needs.
- Cultivate and manage customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and effective communication.
- Develop and maintain budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, productivity, and safety.
- Ensure risk management processes are in place, addressing potential challenges and ensuring legal compliance.
- Oversee asset management within the assigned area, ensuring proper maintenance and optimal use of resources.
- Manage infrastructure maintenance within the area of responsibility, ensuring functionality and sustainability.
- Provide strategic leadership and influence to drive plant optimization and long-term success.
- Ensure compliance with SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality) regulations within the area of responsibility.
- B.Degree /
B.Tech (NQF Level
7) in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (Recommended) / relevant mining qualification. - Government Certificate of Competency (GCC).
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ engineering experience
- Accreditation / Registration - Registered Professional Engineer (ECSA).
