The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager will lead the development and implementation of world-class safety, health and environmental systems that support the sustainable operation of the mine and processing facilities.
Key Activities:
Safety Leadership
- Develop and implement HSE strategy.
- Promote a proactive safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with MHSA and environmental legislation.
Risk Management
- Lead hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Develop mitigation plans.
- Ensure effective emergency preparedness.
Compliance
- Maintain legal compliance registers.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate audits and inspections.
Incident Management
- Lead incident investigations.
- Implement corrective actions.
- Analyse trends and provide recommendations.
Environmental Management
- Ensure responsible environmental stewardship.
- Manage rehabilitation obligations.
- Monitor environmental impacts.
Reporting
- Develop HSE dashboards.
- Present performance metrics to leadership and board structures.
Experience and Qualifications required:
- Degree or Diploma in Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline.
- SAMTRAC, COMSOC or equivalent.
- Professional registration advantageous.
- 8–12 years HSE experience.
- Mining industry experience essential.
