HSE Manager; Mining

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager will lead the development and implementation of world-class safety, health and environmental systems that support the sustainable operation of the mine and processing facilities.

Key Activities:

Safety Leadership

• Develop and implement HSE strategy.
• Promote a proactive safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with MHSA and environmental legislation.

Risk Management

• Lead hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure effective emergency preparedness.

Compliance

• Maintain legal compliance registers.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate audits and inspections.

Incident Management

• Lead incident investigations.
• Implement corrective actions.
• Analyse trends and provide recommendations.

Environmental Management

• Ensure responsible environmental stewardship.
• Manage rehabilitation obligations.
• Monitor environmental impacts.

Reporting

• Develop HSE dashboards.
• Present performance metrics to leadership and board structures.

Experience and Qualifications required:

• Degree or Diploma in Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• SAMTRAC, COMSOC or equivalent.
• Professional registration advantageous.
• 8–12 years HSE experience.
• Mining industry experience essential.
