Laboratory Superintendent

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To maintain resources in the Laboratory in order to provide quality and reliable results to our clients in a safe manner while complying to all policies and procedures.

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent is essential
• Chemistry Diploma/Degree or NQF Equivalent is essential
• Minimum 5 years working experience in an Analytical Chemistry Laboratory is essential

• General Laboratory Practice
• Previous supervisory experience

• MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Interpersonal Skills

• Reports accurate results to the clients within required turn‑around time.
• Ensures that the safety objective is maintained (E.g. zero LTIFR record).
• Ensures that environmental non‑conformances are eliminated by complying to the legal requirements. e.g. H2S scrubber maintenance ISO (14001) and PbO regulation.
• Plans and controls the business plan by monitoring expenditures.
• Maintains resources and upholds the company Policies and Procedures.
• Develops the employee and maintains ISO 9001 accreditation.
• Ensures competent staffing of the laboratory for effective operation.
• Reports on the laboratory performance.
• Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non‑compliance.
