Technical Services Manager

Description

Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager to join their mining company based in North-West. You will be responsible for leading Technical Services functions and developing technical strategies, mine plans and resource management initiatives to support safe, compliant and sustainable mining operations.

• Lead and manage Technical Services functions including geology, survey, geotechnical, rock engineering and mine planning.
• Develop and implement Technical Services strategies, standards and operating plans aligned with mine plans and business objectives.
• Provide technical assurance and support to management on compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Reconcile and report on production performance against mine plans and resource and reserve performance.
• Develop short-, medium- and long-term mine schedules and production budgets.
• Ensure mine plans and production schedules support responsible and sustainable extraction of mineral resources and reserves.
• Provide technical expertise and solutions to support safe and effective mining operations.
• Liaise with mining and processing teams on mine planning, resource extraction and operational requirements.
• Manage workforce planning, budgets, controls, strategies and operating procedures for the Technical Services function.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance relating to geology, survey, geotechnical engineering and production reporting.
• Develop strategies relating to resource management, orebody quantification, depletion and replacement.
• Analyse geological, resource and geotechnical models and provide technical input into operational and business planning.
• Support continuous improvement and optimisation of Technical Services processes and practices.

• Grade 12
• BSc Degree or BEng Degree in Geology/Mining Engineering or related qualification
• Master's Degree would be advantageous
• Professional registration with SACNASP or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Mineral Resource, Geology, Survey, Geotechnical or Mine Planning
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Managerial role
• Management Development Programme (MDP) or equivalent
• Computer literacy in resource modelling, mine scheduling and spatial/GIS software
• Experience in developing and interpreting resource, geological and geotechnical models
