About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Process Design Engineer to enhance their engineering capabilities in Rustenburg . This role involves leading the conceptualization and detailed design of complex chemical processes and plants. You will be responsible for creating innovative solutions, ensuring designs are cost-effective, safe, and meet client specifications. The position requires a strong technical background, leadership potential, and the ability to manage projects from inception through to execution.

- Lead the development of process designs, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and control philosophies.
- Perform process simulations and feasibility studies for new chemical projects and plant upgrades.
- Conduct detailed engineering calculations for unit operations and process systems.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant engineering codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design team members.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) during project execution.
- MSc or MEng in Chemical Engineering with a strong academic record.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in chemical process design and engineering.
- Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Pro/II) and design tools.
- Thorough understanding of project engineering and stage-gate processes.
- Experience in managing design packages and interfacing with EPC contractors.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
