Our client requires a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to support their extensive operations in Rustenburg, particularly within the mining and energy sectors. This role is crucial for assessing ground conditions, designing foundations, and ensuring the stability of structures related to mining operations and energy infrastructure. You will conduct detailed site investigations, interpret complex geological data, and provide expert recommendations to mitigate geotechnical risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site investigations and soil testing for new construction and operational projects.
  • Analyze geotechnical data and prepare detailed reports with design recommendations.
  • Design foundations, retaining walls, and other earthworks for mining and energy infrastructure.
  • Monitor ground stability and implement remediation strategies for existing structures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and construction teams throughout project life cycles.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant geotechnical experience, preferably in mining or energy sectors.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., PLAXIS, Geo Studio).
  • Experience with field investigation techniques and laboratory testing procedures.
  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and hydrogeology.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
