About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Chemical Engineer with a strong focus on Safety and Compliance to join their operations in Rustenburg . This pivotal role will ensure that all chemical processes and facilities meet the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental regulations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and leading compliance initiatives.

- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management systems and procedures.
- Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs), HAZOP studies, and risk assessments for new and existing operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to all national and international safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide expert guidance and training to operational staff on safety protocols and best practices.
- Oversee environmental permit applications and compliance monitoring activities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical engineering, with a significant portion dedicated to safety and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, COMAH) and environmental standards.
- Proven experience in conducting PHAs and risk management assessments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP) is highly desirable.
