About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Drilling Fluids Engineer to join their operational team in the North West province . This role is critical for ensuring the successful and efficient execution of drilling operations by managing and optimizing drilling fluid systems. You will be responsible for the formulation, testing, and application of drilling muds, ensuring they meet the specific geological and operational demands of each well.
This position involves a blend of on-site support and remote analysis, offering a dynamic career path within the demanding Oil & Gas sector .
- Design and implement drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well conditions and objectives.
- Supervise mud operations, ensuring proper mixing, circulation, and solids control.
- Conduct routine testing of drilling fluid properties (e.g., density, viscosity, filtration) both on-site and remotely.
- Analyze drilling fluid performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during drilling operations.
- Manage inventory and procurement of drilling fluid additives and equipment.
- Prepare detailed reports on drilling fluid performance and recommendations for future operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer or in a related mud engineering role.
- In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and hydraulics.
- Familiarity with solids control equipment and technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in both field and office settings, with strong remote collaboration skills.
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
