About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Plant Mechanical Engineer to oversee and maintain the mechanical integrity of industrial equipment at their facility in Rustenburg . This role is crucial for ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance within a demanding manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for managing maintenance schedules, troubleshooting equipment failures, and implementing proactive strategies to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in industrial machinery and a commitment to operational excellence in the North West province.
- Manage and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all plant machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and lifespan.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mechanical operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
- B.Eng Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial plant maintenance and operations.
- Strong knowledge of heavy machinery, pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is essential.
- Proven ability to lead maintenance teams and manage projects effectively.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
